all in National Science Fair Club - can't go to the annual fair bc lack of funds but they're still making a project

sfina: eyepatch, wears button down open wide with lots of jewellery + claw clip

• probably mid 80-90s student
• does not pay attention in class
  • always takes aesthetic notes at the start of semester and then gives up
• friends w a lot of people but like a drifter - no friend group rlly
• sometimes skips lunch
• does not have a prosthetic eye here

arcael: blonde dyed hair + lashes with black highlights kept in

• valedictorian, model student, ten billions ecs and liked by everyone, mostly
• not in creative writing club
• his family situation is still as complicated as ever
• joined club because he's a freaking nerd

lucis: wears red eyeliner under eyes, wears button down fully open w turtleneck under, ties hair into ponytail at school but maybe cuts it halfway through story

• scraping passes in most of his classes - often can't understand course material bc he's esl but their school doesn't have an esl program
  • came to this school bc it was"prestigious" and can't drop Yet

• acts like a theatre kid but not in drama bc he can't read scripts and he has an ominous aura
• turtleneck stays on even in 30 degree weather because he needs to aurafarm
• stays in rented unit paid for by family and used to run to school every day before sfina started driving him
• joined club because he really needs that extra credit

syriense: shorter hair, no twintail things, often ties hair into small ponytail and clips his bangs to the left, wears outdated uniform, black hair but genuinely graying....

• straight a student although he falls asleep in class sometimes
• doesn't really talk to people at school and eats lunch on school roof alone + gets put in random groups for group projects unless someone (usually sfina) asks him to join their group
• always wears long sleeves
• his entire backstory didn't happen but he continues to Go Through It
• pretty sure he's running on 2 hours of sleep a day

• started out insanely awkward + only like surface level hallway wave friends but got closer because of the Incident and sfina yelling at arcael to lock in

• close close friends + hang out a lot after school bc sfina drives lucis to and from home (lucis can't drive..)
• dumb and dumber sometimes sfina is voice of reason but often they just fool around

• similar to main - sfina wants to get closer to him but syriense is nonchalant and doesnt care
• she takes him out a lot

• absolutely off his rocker x reasonable person getting roped into his (lucis's) schemes
• syriense sighs exasperatingly at lucis a lot and tries to pevent some of the fallout from his actions

sfina and arcael in arrange marriage (arcael royal family, sfina high ranking noble)
lucis is a knight of the body assigned to be arcael's liege (although arcael isn't king)
syriense is sfina's tutor and academic companion - takes care of his sister

sfina and albrose are very fond of each other
lucis HATES sfina's guts and constantly side eyes her
sfina thinks lucis is cute slash nonromantic

arcael and lucis are mutual pining
arcael is well aware of his (arcael) feelings but won't say because lucis is below him in hierachy and thinks it would be like taking advantage of him + homophobia probably
lucis is unable to put a name to his feelings - is just very protective of arcael and stands behind him ominously when he talks to people

• "i'm glad you're getting married you're gonna be so happy" when arcael tells him abt arranged marriage but when he sees sfina being "courted" by arcael he goes like Oh... I Don't Like This At All..
